Of marriage, already! Wow~ I cannot believe that one year ago we said "I do." Time goes by so quickly! We've been through a lot the last year...
1) We survived financially, praise God!
2) I have learned how hard it is to run an apartment (NOTE: I wrote apartment, running a house is going to be even harder!)
3) We have grown so much as a couple, and are continuing to be sanctified!
4) I have learned to live on a budget...(I still need to get better at this one though)
5) Matt's dad had a stroke on Thanksgiving...this has really helped in shaping us as a married couple...although it hasn't been easy, God has gotten us through so far.
6) I have fallen in love with Matt more every day and cannot believe how blessed I am to have him in my life. God is good!
7) I cannot wait to see what God has planned for the coming year...
Merry Christmas! I love this time of year and am SO glad that we got married five days before....

Thanksgiving morning...
My father in law had a stroke..
He is currently in the hospital and is making some progress but it will be slow. Please pray for my husband's family. Things are so uncertain at the moment and the future is so unclear. Help us all to remember that God ordained this before the beginning of time and He has a plan for good.
More posts later....
Overwhelmed and distressed for my husband....
Pray that he does not overwork himself and can be strong for his mother and brother...
Thank you.

Yummy...
I want to try this recipe....I do like meat, but I am not a "huge" fan. So getting protein through another resource is always exciting and a new adventure to try out...especially when making Sloppy Joe's-of which is my least favorite food...
This recipe is from the "Passionate Homemaking" blog...
Lentil Sloppy Joe's:
2 cups water (the original recipe uses 3 cups, so notice the change for crockpot preparation!)
1 cup lentils, rinsed (red or brown lentils are preferred)
salt to taste (optional)
1 cup chopped onion
28 oz can diced tomatoes or tomato sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
3 tablespoons rapadura, molasses, or honey
1 Tbsp white vinegar
salt and ground black pepper to taste
4 hamburger buns, split
cheddar cheese, grated (to top your lentils when serving)
Combine all your ingredients in the crockpot (besides the buns and cheese!). Turn on low and cook for approximately 5 hours, until lentils are tender and the mixture has thickened and absorbed most of the liquids. Serve on open faced hamburger buns and top with melted cheese, as desired.

Why I haven't blogged lately...
Well the good news is that I only have one semester left of school after this semester and then my practicum over the summer but getting through this semester has been a challenge! WHEW! I should really get back to my homework dear blog but I just wanted to let you know that I miss you. I really do and cannot wait to post pictures my wonderful husband has taken of life lately...but at the moment I must remain dedicated to learning more about how families work, their function and how to help them.
I will write soon, I promise.

Car Windshield...
Who knew that having someone scrape off your car windshield could bring so much joy? I walked out to my car this morning and noticed my husband had scraped away the frost that fell on my windshield last night. How amazing and how blessed I am.
